Howdy! Thank you for stopping by my little space on the big world wide web. My name is Ashleigh. I love natural health, not taking life too seriously, teaching, my family, traveling, beaches, palm trees, sparkling beverages, and making people laugh. I received my BS in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. One year later, I decided I wanted to teach elementary school, so I got my Masters of Art in teaching (grades k-6). I currently teach 3rd grade at a school 4 blocks from my house. I LOVE teaching in my community.
My wonderfully supportive and loving husband, Alan, and I met in college (a fabulous story that I can share with you someday). We were married in February of 2007 in Salt Lake City, UT. After 4 years of infertility, we were inspired to look into adoption. We were blessed with our oldest son about 5 years after we were married. Our adoption story is something that is very special to us. Words cannot express our love for adoption and birth mothers. A couple years later we started thinking about adoption again, but felt prompted to try invitro-fertilization. We were blessed with a successful transfer, and in 2015 our second son was born. In May of 2017 we tried to do a frozen IVF transfer with our last 2 embryos, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. Since that time we have had a few experiences that have led us to believe that adoption is the right next step for us- the path to choose so to speak. We know the Lord has a plan for us (and all of you).
The purpose of this blog is to share goodness, light, and laughter. It is also to help us find our birth mother and child through adoption. At the end of the day, I hope I can brighten your day, share a laugh, share my experiences with living a natural and wholesome life (or at least how we try to do the best we can), and celebrate families, adoption, IVF, and Motherhood...maybe we can also share some tips on how we all stay sane with a toddler, and a 6 year old who is acting like he is 15, in the house. So, as I always say: kick back, grab a drink, and enjoy! 😊
